Meet Bob Schefter: Your Candidate for Municipal Council

Updated: Aug 27

I was born and raised in Southern Alberta on a dairy farm, where I learned the value of hard work from an early age. Farming is a way of life that teaches you responsibility, patience, and how to make every dollar count. When I eventually took over the family farm, I was responsible not only for crops and animals, but also for the business decisions that kept everything running.

During my farming career, I also served as Vice President of the Farm Safety Centre, where I worked alongside others to promote safer practices and support Alberta’s farm families.

My wife Nancy and I are proud parents of three children and grandparents to five. In 2019, we made the move to Crowsnest Pass to be closer to our daughter and two of our grandsons. Since arriving, we’ve built our home in Coleman and later purchased and renovated a commercial property in Blairmore. Those experiences gave me first-hand knowledge of the challenges that come with our local permitting process.

Today, I’m proud to call the Pass home. This is a community that welcomed us, and it’s a community I want to serve. By bringing my background in farming, business, and community leadership to council, I hope to help ensure Crowsnest Pass is a place where families and businesses can continue to thrive for generations to come.
