Why I'm Running: A Commitment to Our Community

Updated: Aug 27

For the past six years, I’ve been proud to call the Crowsnest Pass my home. Like many of you, I’ve come to love this community for its beauty, its history, and most importantly, the people who live here.

But in those six years, I’ve also seen first-hand the challenges we face — especially when it comes to our property taxes. We pay some of the highest residential tax bills compared to other communities in Alberta. With limited industry in the Pass, much of the financial weight falls on homeowners. That’s not sustainable, and it’s not fair.

That’s why I’m running for municipal council.

My hope is to find ways to ease this burden by making sure every tax dollar is used wisely, efficiently, and transparently. It doesn’t mean cutting the services we depend on — it means being smarter with the resources we already have, eliminating wasteful or unnecessary spending, and making decisions with accountability at the forefront.

I also believe that every resident and property owner deserves a voice in the future of the Pass. Too often, decisions feel like they’re made behind closed doors. Our community needs open conversations, fair processes, and a council that listens.

This is not about politics as usual. It’s about fairness, common sense, and ensuring that Crowsnest Pass is a place where families, businesses, and future generations can thrive.

Over the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting many of you at the community market and around town. I hope you’ll share your thoughts with me, your concerns, and your ideas for the future. Because at the end of the day, this isn’t just my campaign — it’s about all of us.

Together, let’s build a stronger, more accountable Crowsnest Pass.
